Eccles recalled from Gills loan

Coventry City have recalled midfielder Josh Eccles from his loan spell with Gillingham Football Club.

The 20-year-old signed for the Gillingham on September 17th, just a couple of days after playing against the club for Coventry in an EFL Cup tie, which Steve Evans’ side won on penalties.

During his time with The Gills, Eccles made 14 appearances; his final outing coming in the 1-0 loss against Plymouth Argyle at the weekend.

Manager Steve Evans said: “Josh is a young man who has been superb for us and we all thank him.

“He will go back to his parent club a better and more experienced player. He has improved significantly and we all wish him the very best.”

Evans will clearly be looking to strengthen his squad in this transfer window and must now make decisions on whether to keep his other loan players, whilst considering what options are open to him on a permanent basis.
