Ebbsfleet United 4-1 Bromley

In this game between two local rivals from Conference South the home team came out on top in some style with an impressive display of attacking play while the visitors in turn had a bad day at the office defensively.Ebbsfleet United

The game got off to an open and attacking start with both sides pressing for an early goal. Daryl McMahon was booked for a heavy late challenge on Rob Swaine which saw the Bromley skipper require treatment.

League top scorer Bradley Goldberg forced two saves from Preston Edwards as The Ravens pressed, but it was the home side who took the lead on 15 minutes when Michael Thalassitis scored a fine goal from a set piece.

Fleet looked far more dangerous going forward and they were 2-0 up on 33 minutes when Aiden Palmer headed home a deep cross at the far post.

The home side dominated the play up to the break with Bromley struggling to create any chances.

The second half got off to the perfect start for Ebbsfleet when Ben May blasted the ball past Joe Welch at his near post to make it 3-0 on 48 minutes.

Bromley unable to break down the solid home defence were reduced to shooting from long range until Mark Goldberg chose to shake things up on the hour and switched to 3-5-2.

The Ravens found more attacking impetus after the changes and pulled one back on 67 minutes when Jay May volleyed home, latching on to a deep free kick.

For a while Bromley rallied, Goldberg fired over, May & Anderson forced saves from Edwards and The Ravens also had a series of corners, but in the end the game was put beyond doubt in injury time when Billy Bricknell cashed in on some more poor defending and comfortably beat Welch with a cool chip to make it 4-1.
