Eaves linked with Rangers move

Scottish Premier League side Rangers are being linked with a move for Gillingham striker Tom Eaves.

The 26 year old, whose contract with the League One side expires in the summer, could come to the attention of a number of clubs in the January transfer window, with Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers also said to be interested.

Having already scored thirteen goals in this campaign, the Gillingham target man is sure to interest clubs looking for that elusive goal scorer.

Eaves signed a two year deal at Priestfield in the summer of 2017, having joined from Yeovil Town, but his stock has risen in the past eighteen months.

Negotiations between Gillingham and Eaves are understood to have taken place over a new deal, but the striker will be free to talk to other clubs once the January transfer window opens.

The dilemma for Steve Lovell will be as to whether he tries to cash in on Eaves in January, or hope he can persuade the talismanic forward to stay beyond the end of his current deal.
