Dulwich Hamlet vs Cray Wanderers – Preview

Fifth plays fourth in the Isthmian League Premier Division on Saturday afternoon when Dulwich Hamlet take on Cray Wanderers at Champion Hill.

Cray Wanderers sit in fourth place with 19 points from 10 league games, last weekend The Wands lost 4-0 away to Bishop Stortford in the FA Trophy, while on Tuesday Tim O’Shea’s side were edged out 5-4 by a young AFC Wimbledon team in the London Senior Cup, so they will be keen to get back to winning ways quickly after a good start to the season.

Dulwich Hamlet are fifth in the table with 16 points from 9 league matches, last Saturday The Hamlet lost 1-0 at home to Hendon in the FA Trophy. Mark Dacey’s team are without a win since the start of September and will be looking to turn things around in front of their large home support.

The two sides met in the reverse fixture on 30th September at Flamingo Park, with Cray Wanderers running out 4-2 winners. Lateef Adaja, Alex Hernandez, Tom Bonner and Joshua Williams on target for The Wands with Danny Mills & Sol Baugh notching late on for Hamlet. The Dulwich side containing former Wanderers Anthony Cook, Geofrey Okonkwo and Nyren Clunis.

When the teams met at Champion Hill last season on August Bank Holiday Monday Hamlet won 2-1 and this looks set to be another close fought, entertaining match up, between two historic names of non league football sitting near the top of the table and looking to maintain their play off challenge.
