Dowson appointed Dartford manager

Dartford Football Club have announced that they have appointed Alan Dowson as their new manager.

Dowson spent 7 successful years at Kingstonian, followed by 4 years at Hampton & Richmond Borough and Woking FC respectively. In his first season at Woking, they finished 2nd in the National league South and were promoted to the National League after beating Welling United in the Promotion Final.

He brings a wealth of experience both as a player and a manager, Dowse will be naming his back room staff in due course.

Dowson is appointed the new boss at Princes Park just days after Steve King’s departure and Darts fans will be hoping he can lead them back to the National League having made the play-offs in recent weeks, losing out to Chippenham Town on penalties.

A statement from Dartford Football Club reads:

“Further posts will be made when Dowse returns from a well-earned break.

So please join us in welcoming Dowse to Dartford Football Club. We can’t wait to start working with him and his team.

For and on behalf of the board of Dartford FC.”
