Just a week after making his debut as part of the British Superbike Championship, Anthony Johnson was back on track in familiar surroundings and back in the top step of the podium.

Johnson was on track at Donington Park in the British Motor Cycle Racing Club third round of the season, and it was another successful weekend in the Helmet City MRO Supersport 600 series.
He took victory in race one, had a DNF in race two and was back of the top step of the podium in race three, and he was also setting new lap records aboard his Triumph as well. He brings us up to date with his race weekend.
Race 1 -at Donington Park – P1 and a new lap record.
Genuinely did not know about the lap record until I came back into the pits – I was just focused on settling into a rhythm and staying consistent throughout the race. 1:34.382. Absolutely gobsmacked when I heard about it.
Massive credit to Sam Hirst Team Valley Racing and Jack Muir for amazing rides too – great racing all round today. Two more races tomorrow and I cannot wait

Race 1 – wish I could say it was a DNF, but it was actually a DNS. Set off on the warmup lap, underestimated how cold the tyres had got whilst we were sat on the grid. First time turning left at Craner Curves, had a small slide from the rear which loaded the front and down I went. Really lucky the bike stayed on one side and didn’t get picked in the grass. Ended up watching the rest of the race from Craner Curves in the sunshine.
Damage wise we were extremely lucky – mainly the tank and bodywork. The team got straight to work tearing the bike apart to get it ready for the last race of the weekend. Massive shoutout to J B Motorcycles and Mark Bailey – genuinely would not have been able to do it without you and to Max Hardy for lending me his spare leathers – you are a legend mate.
Huge thanks also to Sam Hirst Racing, Team Valley Racing, Jack Muir Racing, Jake Anderton, Michael Mills, Richard Hayward and everyone else who came over and offered help or spares. That is racing at its finest and it means everything.

Race 2 – lined up from P6 in a fresh set of borrowed leathers. Got a great start, into P2 by turn one, made a pass for the lead and just focused on staying consistent and in a good rhythm. Brought it home P1 reaching lap record pace again on the final lap.
The paddock community made this weekend possible, and I could not be more grateful for every single person who helped.
Now we have got our work cut out getting the bike back sorted for Cadwell Park at the end of May – and I am desperately in need of a new set of leathers and boots after the crash. If anyone would like to come on board as a sponsor ahead of Cadwell please get in touch.
