He certainly gave his Regular & Reserve BMW team plenty to smile about at Cadwell Park on with a top ten finish in both the BSB races, finishing 9th in race one and then 10th in race two.
Riding the Briggs Equipmemt BMW, Dixon showed good from throughout the free practice sessions and he eventually qualified in 12th place for Monday’s opening 18-lap race. A solid start saw the Dover rider complete the first lap in 14th position and although he dropped back a spot a lap later, by lap four he was up into 13th and running comfortably inside the points. Finding opportunities to overtake wasn’t easy and Jake held station in the position for the next 12 laps.
However, a late flurry of action in the closing laps saw a significant shuffle in the places and Jake crossed the line in ninth place for his second best result of the season so far. Despite of that, he had to start the second race from 15th on the grid and the race ultimately followed a similar pattern to the first. Having initially dropped back slightly, Jake continued to move forward, particularly after half race distance, and he was rewarded with tenth place and another excellent finish.Jake Dixon - Brands Hatch BSB - PSP Images

Speaking after his best weekend of his part season in the British Superbikes, a pleased Dixon said: “Free practice went really well so I was a little bit disappointed with the qualifying session but to come away from race day with two top ten finishes on one of the most difficult circuits on the calendar is pleasing.

“The bike felt a little bit strange at the beginning of the races and it took me a while to get going but I managed to put in a few passes and climb my way through the pack on both occasions. It’s my first time here on a Superbike so I’ve got be happy with a ninth and a tenth. I’m learning all the time and the team are doing a great job so roll on the next round.”
