Double podium for Nixon at Oulton Park

Jack Nixon got his season up and running with a double podium in the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship GP2 class.

After touching down back in the UK it was hardly any time at all before the run up to Round two of the Bennetts British Superbikes in the picturesque MSV Oulton Park which started out with the test days.

As Nixon entered the race weekend the weather was looking good for the Sunday and Monday races.

Race one Nixon had qualified 16th overall and P1 in class managing to progress on his position to 13th but lost out in the GP2 class to team mate Owen Jenner to take second.

Taking the positives from that, Nixon was back on the podium in the Monday feature race as well meaning he picked up two trophies throughout the bank holiday weekend and currently holds P2 in the Championship.

Speaking after an excellent weekend, Nixon said: “Oulton was a weekend that showed promise, with myself and the team improving the bike each time I got on it, making good progress throughout the weekend. We worked well together as a team and I’m happy with the steps forward we made.

“I wasn’t 100% happy with the races, due to a few issues stopping me from showing the speed we had. But I’m confident that we can solve this by going into Donington next weekend. Thanks for Kramer Racing and all of my sponsors that make everything happen behind the scenes!”

Jack Nixon will be back out for Round three at the Derbyshire circuit of Donington Park this weekend.
