Dorking Wanderers v Bromley preview

Bromley are back in National League action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Dorking Wanderers.

The Ravens go into the game without a win in eight games, but they did pick up a hard earned point at home to Halifax Town last weekend, Michael Cheek with the opening goal just after the hour, before Bromley conceded an equaliser two minutes later.

The 1-1 draw kept Andy Woodman’s team in tenth place with twenty six points from nineteen league games, still within four points of the play off places.

Dorking Wanderers go into the game sitting in fifteenth, four points behind Bromley with a game in hand.

Last Saturday they lost 2-0 away at Southend and are without a victory in four matches.

This is Marc White side’s first season in the National League having won promotion from National League South last season via the play offs, the club having risen up from County League Football to Non League’s top flight in 20 years, making a steady start to life in the fifth tier.

Wanderers have two ex-Bromley players among their squad in midfielders Adam Mekki & Bobby-Joe Taylor.

The two teams have only met once before back in December 2019 for an FA Trophy tie, when Wanderers were 3-0 winners at Meadowbank, although Bromley have played at the same ground several times against the old Dorking FC.

With both teams needing to re-discover winning ways this will be an intriguing match up as they look to move towards the top seven and further away from the bottom four.

The Ravens will be wearing their new David Bowie inspired green third kit for the match, which was launched last Saturday.
