Ryan Dixon didn’t have the best of weekends at the latest No Limits Racing round, but he still isn’t out of the title hunt just yet.

In the end there was just the one race in the weekend due to accidents, but it wasn’t the race he wanted as he came off in lap five. Ryan brings us up to date with his race weekend.
“Not a major amount to report. A one (race) day meeting as always at Oulton. Very few laps, approximately 25 and a disappointing race day. Firstly I’d like to wish the injured riders from the weekend a full and speedy recovery, particularly Andy Stuart from the Navy team who has sustained some nasty injuries. Rest up and get well soon!
“Friday morning test was very hit and miss. Damp to stay with, one dry session, then the heavens opened just before the final one so I sat it out. Qualifying actually went well. I got out at the front and got clear track.

“Ended P3 on the grid behind two young guns from BSB and first of the championship contenders so was happy with that.
Race – a good start, got away with the two guest riders but Mr Lofthouse was on my case from the off. He got through 3 or 4 times and each time I passed straight back knowing I had to try and stay in front.
He eventually got past earlier in the lap meaning he was in front going into his two strongest points on the track. I went to go straight back past but actually got too good of a run through island bend meaning I had to roll off so I couldn’t get alongside on the way into Shell Oils hairpin.
That meant he made a gap through the next section and I then rode balls out through the final two corners to close part of the gap with a view to getting close enough to pass early in the next lap but that’s where my plan came undone.
As I apexed the final corner, keen to get a good run onto the start straight, I caught my footrest on the kerb and that was that. My first crash since Anglesey mid 2023 and advantage max going into the final round at Donington park in 4 weeks.

The second race had to be cancelled as time ran out after a couple of red flag incidents and a delay waiting for the air ambulance. I knew it was going to be tough at Oulton as it seems to be the track that highlights the weaknesses of the Yamaha but I was willing to go all in to try and peg some points back.
Unfortunately in racing, things don’t always go to plan. I did however do my best lap at Oulton Park by 0.6 seconds (managed a 1.38.6) and 3 of the race laps I did manage were faster than I’d ever been there so I was definitely pushing on!
It means we go to the final round 33 points down with 75 available. Advantage Max and barring an issue for him, a big uphill battle for me but I’ll do what I can, ride to the best of my ability and what will be will be. Thanks as always to all who make it possible, I’ve not given up just yet!
