Jake Dixon took a dominant sprint race victory in Sepang at the latest round of the Moto2 season at the weekend.

The race was a shortened affair due to an incident in Moto3 and when the Moto2 race did get going it was red flagged on lap two due to an accident at the final corner.
When the new shortened 11 lap race got underway Dixon from Dover took full advantage.
Starting from third on the grid and on the inside of the front row, Dixon got an excellent start and slotted into second position after a tough scrap with Albert Arenas on the first lap.
The Dover born rider then chased down early leader Dani Holgado and passed him for the lead on lap three. From there, he was able to stretch his lead out to two seconds to take a third victory of the year, and sixth podium finish.

This result sees Jake climb one place to fourth in the championship standings with 215 points.
Speaking after the victory, Dixon said: “First and foremost I want to wish the boys in Moto3 a speedy recovery because that was a horrible crash to see. But that race is dedicated to my grandad. That was so, so good. I’m so happy. I’ve been waiting since the early part of the season to come back to winning ways. People might hate me for saying this, but I cleaned up in that one!
“Also, a big shout out to the MotoGP physios here because I’ve had quite bad nerve pain in my right arm and a tingling sensation. There are so many people behind this result today, including my wife, daughter and all the team. It’s been a massive team effort. It’s not easy to get results like this today, but I’m happy to be one of the best at doing it.”
