Denly signs three year Kent deal

Kent Cricket have announced that homegrown batting all-rounder Jaydn Denly has signed a three-year contract to remain a Kent player until at least the end of the 2028 season.

Margate-born Denly graduated from the Kent Cricket Academy in 2023, and has made 37 first-team appearances to-date, scoring over 1,000 Kent runs and taking 23 wickets.

A left-handed batter and left-arm orthodox spinner, the 19-year-old has also made multiple appearances for England U19s in his career so far.

His current Kent-best of 91 came against Lancashire in this Summer’s Metro Bank One Day Cup at The County Ground, Beckenham.

On signing his new contract, Denly said: “Kent is my club and I’ve really enjoyed the challenge of breaking into the first-team here.

“It’s now time for me to push on, continuing my development with the coaches here and hopefully make some big contributions next Summer and beyond.”

Kent’s Director of Cricket, Simon Cook, said: “Jaydn has done extremely well to command a first-team place and he has shown great versatility with where he can bat in the order.

“As well as his batting and his bowling, he’s a good asset for us in the field and is showing all the hallmarks of becoming one of those players that can excel in all three disciplines.

“We hope that he continues his development this coming Summer as more first-team opportunities arise.”
