Deadline day deals for Addicks
Deadline day deals for Addicks

Former club record signing, Jason Euell, was confirmed as Charlton’s new senior academy coach on Monday.Jason Euell

Euell replaces the hugely successful Nathan Jones, who left to take up a first team coaching role at Brighton.

Charlton made an attempt to take Manchester United’s former Crewe striker, Nick Powell, on loan but a deal had already been done to take Powell to Wigan.

Enigmatic winger, Danny Green, has joined League One outfit, Milton Keynes Dons, on a short term loan until 6 October. Green has been a peripheral figure since the Addicks have returned to the Championship. The spell with Milton Keynes should give Green some much needed game time which will sharpen him up.

Replacing Green at The Valley is Hull’s former Manchester United winger, Cameron Stewart, who is on loan until 4 January.

The Manchester born wide man, has made a total of 47 league appearances for Hull, plus another 21 during loan stints at Yeovil, Burnley and Blackpool.

A pacy player, Stewart can play up front but is primarily a winger.

Charlton fans will be delighted that none of their better players left the club.

The ’emergency’ loan window will open next week, so the Addicks may bring another player or two in then.
