Dartford have today confirmed the signing of forward Fumnaya Shomotun, who joins the Club from Sevenoaks Town.

Shomotun starred at Princes Park on Tuesday, and put on an impressive display against the Darts in the Kent Senior Cup.

Despite bowing out of the competition, interim manager Tony Burman evidently saw value in the Nigerian forward, as he provided an assist for Matty Warren’s equaliser.

Burman will hope Shomotun will provide much needed depth and quality across the frontline, with numbers in attacking positions depleted. Dartford have seen strikers Harvey Bradbury, Lewis Manor and George Alexander depart, while winger Brandon Barzey remains sidelined by injury.

Brentford played a vital role in Shomotun’s youth development, before the forward moved to Barnet in 2014.

While at Barnet, he spent loan spells at Staines Town, Margate and Wealdstone, before moving to the latter on a permanent basis. It took him until 2022 to settle at a club, being Sevenoaks, who he spent two years with.

Shomotun becomes immediately available for tomorrow’s trip to Farnborough, and will be looking to make an impact in a struggling side.
