Dartford have today announced the signing of midfielder Taylor Maloney from fellow National League South side Farnborough.

This is the second piece of business done between the two clubs this week, with Harvey Bradbury moving the opposite way on Tuesday.

Maloney joins the club after scoring thrice for the Yellows, who he signed for on a free in July. Prior to this, the 24-year-old notched an impressive campaign for Welling last season, with the midfielder scoring 10 goals in 34 appearances.

He is a product of the Charlton Athletic youth system, and has also spent time at Newport County, Concord Rangers, and Bromley. Sources have suggested that location may have been an important factor in Maloney deciding to move to Princes Park.

Despite his status as interim boss, Tony Burman has had no hesitation in making changes to give the Darts the best possible chance of reaching the Playoffs. The reintroduction of Brandon Barzey and capture of Maloney will prove vital for the side going forward, with creativity in midfield being sorely missed since the summer departure of Samir Carruthers.

Maloney will, however, have to wait for his chance to debut for the Darts, due to the postponement of their trip to Bath tomorrow.

Providing all goes well, Maloney will be available for Dartford’s home fixture against Weymouth in the closing stages of January, with this also being Burman’s first game back in charge of the Club.
