Dartford vs Eastbourne Borough preview

Dartford welcome Eastbourne Borough to Princes Park on Saturday in the National League South.

After last week’s postponement Dartford are still waiting to bounce back from their defeat to Hampton and Richmond a fortnight ago. The Darts were on a four game winning streak at home prior to that loss.

Their opponents Eastbourne are on a run of their own, drawing six league games on the bounce, a 2-2 draw away to Weymouth last week being their latest stalemate.

Despite not playing last weekend Dartford still find themselves in 7th place as teams below them dropped points. The visitors this weekend have 12 fewer points and are situated in 16th place.

Eastbourne were the opponents for Steve King’s first win as Dartford manager back in November. Norman Wabo put Dartford ahead before a 30 yard screamer from Elliott Romain secured the points.

Romain will not be able to play against his former club this time though as he serves a one game suspension. Charlie Sheringham or Liam Nash are both good options to come in to the side and offer something different.

Not only will manager King have to decide who he wants to lead from the front but the recent weather may change his approach to the game. Depending on how much more rain we get King’s selection may well be influenced by the state of the pitch.

With the two teams directly below Dartford going head to head Saturday, this is a good opportunity to put a gap between them and at least one of the chasing pack.
