Dagenham & Redbridge 1-1 Bromley

Bromley took their unbeaten start to the National League season to nine games with an injury time equaliser at Victoria Road to come back from East London with a point having trailed since the second minute of the game.

In front of the BT Sport Cameras the game got off to the worst possible start for The Ravens when they failed to clear their lines from a Elliott Justham long ball and James Dobson crossed for Angelo Balanta who flicked his header past Mark Cousins into the far corner of the net.

Dagenham continued to have the better of things during the opening of the half, but Bromley did slowly improve.

Late on The Ravens had a good spell and they nearly equalised when Luke Coulson had a shot blocked in the box, which fell to Reeco Hackett-Fairchild, but his low powerful drive cannoned off the near post and away to safety.

The second half saw Bromley start well, Coulson had a long range free kick palmed away by Justham, but the resulting corners came to nothing.

Former Raven Joan Luque nearly extended The Daggers lead with a sharp turn and shot that went just wide as the game really opened up. The Ravens switched to 4-4-2 and pressed with long throws, causing pressure around the box, but the home side should have gone two up when Luque turned a Dobson cross from the right narrowly over from close range.

The Daggers had a strong spell with Bagasan Graham and Mitch Brundell going close, but Bromley held out and then had a period of pressure at the other end. Hackett-Fairchild had a free kick brilliantly tipped over by Justham and Marc-Anthony Okoye put the resulting corner over.

Just when it looked like Neil Smith’s side were about to taste defeat for the first time this campaign, Adam Mekki found Hackett-Fairchild on the edge of the box and the young forward wriggled free before coolly slotting the ball past Justham into the far corner of the net to make it 1-1 in the fourth minute of injury time and keep the run going.

Following the dramatic draw The Ravens stay in third place ahead of their home game with Chesterfield on Saturday afternoon.
