Dagenham and Redbridge vs Bromley Preview

Having gone the whole of August unbeaten in the National League, Bromley start September with a trip to East London to face Dagenham & Redbridge in front of the BT Sport cameras on Wednesday night.

Neil Smith’s side came from behind twice to draw 2-2 at home to AFC Fylde on Saturday with goals from Billy Bingham and Frankie Raymond, a result that left them third in the table with 18 points from 8 games played.

Dagenham drew 1-1 away at Chesterfield on the weekend with Peter Taylor’s team now sitting eleventh in the table with 11 points from 8 matches played, on an unbeaten run of four games.

The Daggers goal coming from former forward Joan Luque who had a loan spell with The Ravens from Lincoln City last season and he is partnered up top by another ex-Bromley man in Joe Quigley. Both men will have a point to prove after struggling to settle in at Hayes Lane last term.

Bromley’s record in front of the live TV cameras is good, with four wins and two defeats, if you include the FA Trophy final. It still feels like a novelty for the fans to have their side’s matches broadcast on a national TV channel.

Since Dagenham’s relegation from the Football League and Bromley promotion to the National League The Daggers have won all three meetings at Victoria Road, 2-1, 5-1 and 3-0 this March, but Smith will be keen to show how much more resilient his current Ravens squad are as they look to extend their unbeaten record into a new month.
