Curtiss signs two year Kent deal

Kent Cricket have announced that homegrown talent Olly Curtiss has graduated from the Kent Cricket Academy and signed his first professional contract with the Club.

The 19-year-old made his professional debut in the 2025 Metro Bank One Day Cup and after two appearances in 50-Over competition for the Spitfires, also made two first-class appearances in the final month of the 2025 Rothesay County Championship.

A right-handed all-rounder, Curtiss plays his club cricket for St Lawrence & Highland Court in the Kent Cricket Premier League, and this Summer scored 625 runs in 12 appearances with two centuries, averaging 62.50 and striking at 99.34.

On signing his first professional contract, Curtiss said: “Having played at the Club since the age of 10, this is an immensely proud moment for me and my family.

“During this exciting time for Kent Cricket, I eagerly work towards being able to put out high quality performances for the first-team.”

Kent’s Director of Cricket, Simon Cook, said: “Olly has impressed throughout his journey from Age Group cricket to the Academy and into the Second XI.

“After a frustrating 2024, he’s shown great resilience to return in 2025 and dominate both club and age-group cricket. He fully deserves this opportunity.

“He’s an aggressive batter with high potential, capable of contributing across multiple formats with both bat and ball.

“It’s also really encouraging to see another homegrown Kent player progressing through our system and earning the chance to represent the Club at professional level.”
