Kent Crusaders won their third straight game in Men’s NBL Division 2 with an emphatic 68-93 away win over London Greenhouse Pioneers at CitySport in London on Sunday.

The game remained close with Pioneers within 2 with three minutes left in the third period, but an 18-4 run over the final minutes gave Kent a commanding 63-47 cushion heading into the final quarter where they would cruise the rest of the way.

“The score very much flatters us,” said Kent Head Coach Lloyd Gardner.

“We ran up the score in the fourth, finally managed to get out in transition a little bit but I don’t think that’s a fair reflection of the game it was a very close one.”

“We feel like we didn’t play our best. The Pioneers are in a difficult position with the ruling this week, without their coach as well, we knew they were going to be dangerous. We perhaps got lucky today. They didn’t hit many jumpshots, ones they usually make.”

“For us, we’re delighted to get to win, and that’s the most important thing for us and we’ve just got to focus on getting better moving forward.”

Amin Adamu had 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead Kent, with RJ Eytle-Rock adding 19 and 5 assists and John Shodipo 15 points.

Kent are now 13-2 in second place in the league table, as they return to Brompton next week facing Newham Neptunes on February 11 at 2:45pm.
