Crofts departs Addicks

Former Gillingham midfielder Andrew Crofts was released by the Addicks on Thursday, and is expected to join his former‎ Charlton team mate, Lee Novak, at Scunthorpe.

In his season at The Valley, Crofts made 54 appearances, scor‎ing one goal, a late equaliser at Southend on the last day of 2016.

Karl Robinson had this to say about Crofts: “Like with Lee (Novak), I’d like to thank Crofty for his hard-work and professionalism.

“At the football club we have a lot of options in centre midfield with Ahmed (Kashi), Jake (Forster-Caskey), Joe (Aribo) and Ez (Konsa) can play in there too, so like with Lee’s, this was a deal that was best for all parties. I’d like to wish him all the best.”

Robinson’s ‎midfield options were further reduced on Friday, when Regan Charles-Cook joined Woking on loan until January.
