The Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship returns this weekend and Michael Crees will be back on track with his BTC Racing team.

The Broadstairs racer will be looking to put the disastrous Silverstone round behind him where he failed to finish any of the three races.

His attention meanwhile is fully locked-in on claiming the Jack Sears Trophy honours on the former airfield, with the aim of retaking the championship lead as the BTCC heads into the business end of the season.

Speaking ahead of the weekend, Crees said: “I’m looking forward to getting back out on track and putting the disaster of Silverstone behind us, try and get back on top stop and retake the lead of the Jack Sears Trophy.”

“I think that the rear-wheel-drive cars will be there or thereabouts again this weekend as always. But I do think that we’ve got a good chance with the Honda.

“The team have worked so hard since Silverstone. They’ve changed everything on the car. They’ve rebuilt the whole engine, and I think we’ll be in a good position.

“As long as I finish ahead of Thompson I’ll be happy. My focus now is 100% on the Jack Sears Trophy.”
