Michael Crees goes into the final weekend of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship with his eyes very firmly on the prize.

The Broadstairs race ace is in pole position to win the Jack Sears Trophy this weekend as the season comes to an end at his home circuit of Brands Hatch.

Heading into the final three rounds of the shortened 2020 season, Michael Crees leads the Jack Sears Trophy championship, with an eleven-point lead at the top of the standings.

The Clever Baggers with BTC Racing driver has secured ten class wins from his campaign so far this year and is determined to achieve his goal of claiming the highly-coveted title on only his second year of competing on the BTCC grid.

Speaking ahead of the weekend, Crees said: “It’s a shame that Bobby [Thompson] isn’t going to be there, but Carl Boardley is my main threat for the Jack Sears Trophy now. I’m just going to approach the first two races in the same way I would if it was a normal BTCC weekend.

“I’ll start thinking about the championship when I’m on the grid for race 3. Depending on how race 1 and 2 go, I just want to focus on them as usual.

“Saturday is going to be important for me. I need to be quick out of the blocks and get into that top 12 and that will put me in the good stead for the races. I’ve got Josh and Tom to back me up if I need them, hopefully, they’ll have my back as well.”
