Cray Wanderers vs Haringey Borough Preview

Cray Wanderers return to Isthmian League Premier Division action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain high flying Haringey Borough at Hayes Lane.

The Wands progressed to the second qualifying round of the FA Cup on Sunday with a 2-1 win over Bedfont Sports, thanks to first half goals from Lee Lewis and Joe Taylor, having drawn 1-1 away at Potters Bar in the league the previous week.

Cray sit fourteenth in the division with six points from five matches played following promotion at the end of the last campaign.

Borough travel down from North London sitting second in the table with fifteen points from six games, having beaten Herne Bay 3-0 last weekend in the cup and East Thurrock Utd 2-0 in the league on the previous Saturday. Borough Manager Tom Loizou’s side have only lost once so far this season.

Tony Russell’s squad was boosted by the return of Ben Mundele to the club last week, but they still have key players out injured including Jay Leader & Andre Coker, which makes their solid start to the season even more impressive.

The sides have met seven times before, the last being when they were in Ryman League Division One North, which ended in a 4-2 win for The Wanderers.

This promises to be an entertaining encounter between two good sides looking to continue their positive run of results.

Admission is £10 and £5 for concessions, but season ticket holders for Premier League, Football League & National League clubs can see for the game for just £5 on production of their ticket at the turnstile.
