Cray Wanderers vs Bromley – Preview

It’s a meeting of tenants and landlords at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon when Cray Wanderers host Bromley in a pre-season friendly.

The game is all ticket with 600 tickets put on sale and they must be purchased in advance via either club’s website.

Bromley returned to Full training this week ahead of their Sixth consecutive National League campaign which starts on 3rd October, while Cray’s Isthmian League Premier Division season starts in two weeks time with a home game against Kingstonian.

Tony Russell’s Wands have already played six warm up games ahead of this one, the last being a 1-1 draw at Avely on Tuesday night, with centre back Jay Leader putting Cray in front.

The majority of last season’s squad have stayed for this campaign as they look to carry on the fantastic First year back at this level, which saw The Wands sitting second prior to the premature end in March.

Bromley manager Neil Smith added Ex-Millwall player Liam Trotter to his squad on Wednesday, plus Kory Roberts from Walsall and he also said goodbye to striker Adrian Clifton who never quite discovered the form that had seen him top score at Maidenhead previously.

There may be some unfamiliar faces in The Ravens squad with only ten players retained from last season.

The match looks set to be an entertaining encounter between these friendly rivals as they prepare for 2020/21 in these unusual circumstances.
