Cray Wanderers vs Aveley – Preview

It’s Friday night football at Flamingo Park as fifth placed Cray Wanderers take on fourth placed Aveley in the Isthmian League Premier Division.

Tim O’Shea’s side are looking to build on a run of three consecutive wins, which has moved them up to fifth in the table with 41 points from 25 league games. Last weekend The Wands won 4-1 away at Brentwood Town thanks to two goals from Soul Kader, along with one from Alex Hernandez and Lateef Adaja.

Kader has since been recalled by Bromley and loaned out to Horsham in National League South, which is a real blow to The Wands, but a positive move for the young striker.

Aveley make the short trip down from Essex having picked up 42 points from 22 league matches, last Tuesday the Millers won 1-0 away at league leaders Folkestone Invicta thanks to a goal from Ollie Peters just before half time, making it four games unbeaten for Brett Munyard’s side.

Aveley were relegated from The National League South last season, and the teams haven’t met yet this season, with the reverse fixture not scheduled until the end of March.

This looks set to be a close fought encounter under the lights with both sides looking to cement their play-off credentials going into the second half of the season.

Cray Wanderers are offering all EFL Club season ticket holders’ free entry, and they can also bring a friend for £5.

Tickets are normally priced at £15 for adults, £10 for concessions, £5 for Under 18s and Under 16s are free.

Kick Off is at 7:45pm and there is an excellent printed programme for £3.
