Cray Wanderers vs Lewes preview

Cray Wanderers are back in Isthmian League Premier Division action at Hayes Lane again on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Lewes.

The Wands drew 1-1 at home to AFC Hornchurch on Wednesday night in a very entertaining game, Ben Mundele equalising with a superb goal from distance in the second half after Cray had conceded just before the break.

The point kept Tony Russell’s side in sixth place with 42 points from 23 games, level with Hornchurch and Carshalton Athletic in the two play off places above them and continued The Wands unbeaten start to 2020.

Lewes travel up from Sussex in sixteenth place with 25 points from 22 league matches played, it’s been a consistently inconsistent campaign so far for The Rooks under manager Darren Freeman winning 7, drawing 4 and losing 11. Last Saturday they lost 1-0 at home to in form Carshalton Athletic.

When the teams met at the Dripping Pan in October Cray ran out 3-2 winners, Dayshonne Golding and Stefan Ilic scoring for The Rooks either side of goals from Joe Taylor, Mitchell Nelson and Andre Coker for The Wands.

Games between Cray Wands and Lewes are always entertaining and usually produce a good number of goals and incident, this one promises to be no different.

Entrance for the game is £10 for adults and £5 for concessions, but season ticket holders for Premier League, Football League and National League clubs can gain entry for just £5 on production of their season ticket at the gate.
