Cray Wanderers v Potters Bar Town preview

Cray Wanderers return to Isthmian League Premier Division action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Potters Bar Town at Hayes Lane.

The Wands go into the game having ended a disappointing run with a 2-1 win away at Bowers & Pitsea last weekend, Tom Derry grabbing the equaliser & David Ijaha with an injury time clincher, having fallen behind early on.

Neil Smith’s side now sit ninth in the table with 54 points from 34 matches played, five points off the play off spots.

Leyton Orient full back Harrison Sodje had returned to the club on another loan spell and has been joined by Jaheim Whyte also on loan from Os, while left back Bailey Akehurst has gone back to Gillingham.

Potters Bar Town are currently thirteenth in the table with 43 points from 32 games, last Saturday they lost 1-0  at home to Margate and are without a win in the league since the end of January, although Lee Protheroe’s side have reached the final of The Velocity Cup.

When the sides met at The Lantern Stadium in October the game finished 1-1, Mohammed Kamara putting Town in front early on before Mitchell Chapman equalised for The Wands six minutes later.

With only eight league games left to play Cray will need to put together a winning run to keep in touch with the top five and challenge for the promotion play offs, while The Scholars will be looking to turn things around in the league.

Entrance for the game is £12 for adults and £6 for concessions, Bromley FC adult season ticket holders can see the match for £6. There is also an excellent printed programme at £2.
