Cray Wanderers v Kingstonian preview

Cray Wanderers are back in Isthmian League Premier Division action at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Kingstonian, knowing that if they win their last two remaining league games The Wands will secure a place in the play offs.

Neil Smith’s side go into the game on a good run of form, unbeaten in seven games and having won both Easter fixtures 1-0 at home to Corinthian Casuals and 5-3 away at Herne Bay.

The wins have taken Cray up to fifth in the table with 70 points from 40 games one point ahead of Enfield Town, with another three teams behind them who could still make the final play off place.

Nyren Clunis scored the only goal in the win over Casuals and also netted twice at Herne Bay with Sam Wood, Jalen Jones and Rio Campbell also on target in an eight goal thriller on the Kent coast.

Kingstonian make the journey over from South West London on 39 points from 40 matches, sitting in eighteenth place, six points above the relegation zone with two games left to play.

Following their 2-0 away victory over Corinthian Casuals on Monday, one more point will secure The Ks place in the Premier Division for next season, although both games are against teams at the top of the table in Cray and Hornchurch.

Ibrahima Bangura & Tom Collins were on target for Simon Lane’s team in the win over Casuals who had two players sent off.

When the Ks and The Wands met at Imperial Fields in December, Cray ran out 1-0 winners courtesy of a Sam Wood goal in the first half and with so much to play for this match up looks set to be equally as tight, with something riding on the game for the two teams involved at opposite ends of the table.

Entrance for the game is £12 for adults and £6 for concessions, there is also an excellent printed programme for £2. Bromley, Millwall, Crystal Palace & Charlton Athetic adult season ticket holders can see the game for £6.

Kick off is at 3pm.
