Cray Wanderers v Greenwich Borough preview

Cray Wanderers return to Ryman League Division One South action on Monday when they entertain Greenwich Borough in a local derby.

The Wands had their game at Three Bridges postponed on Saturday after vandals left the Sussex side’s pitch unplayable.

Their last outing was a disappointing 4-1 home defeat to Hastings United last Sunday.

Tony Russell’s side now sit in eleventh with three games to play with 63 points from 43 games.

Borough make the short trip over from Eltham sitting third in the play off spots and looking to finish as high as possible to gain home advantage in the post season.

Gary Alexander’s side won the reverse fixture on Boxing Day 3-1 and have been in fine form winning their game on Saturday 2-0 at home to Godlaming, both goals from Charlie McDonald taking them up to a phenomenal 91points.

The two sides were regular opponents back in their Kent League days and will be well known to each other giving the derby game an extra edge with Borough keen to guarantee a third place finish.
