Cray Wanderers v Enfield Town preview

Quickly following on from their New Year’s Day win at East Thurrock United, Cray Wanderers are back in Isthmian League Premier Division action on Monday afternoon when they enter in Enfield Town at Hayes Lane.

In their first game under interim boss Grant Basey, The Wands won 3-1 at East Thurrock thanks to goals from Cameron Brodie, Anthony Cook and Jai Reason.

The victory took Cray up one place to 20th with 18 points from 20 league matches played. The win ended The Wands run of three consecutive defeats and was a great start to the tenure of former player Basey, Gary Alexander and Peter Lodge.

Enfield travel down from North London on the back of a 4-0 home win over Potters Bar Town. Mohammadu Faal scoring a hatrick with the other coming from Lyle Dela Verde.

The victory was Town’s first success following a disappointing winless December run. The Es are fifth in the table with 39 points from 20 games played under manager Andy Leese.

They include former Wanderers player Andre Coker in their squad, who had a great spell at Hayes Lane in 2019.

Enfield have an excellent support attracting 682 for the Potters Bar match and they travel in numbers which will boost the crowd on Monday.

With both teams having picked up wins to start 2022 they go In to this one with some confidence and looking to kick on in their respective bids to avoid the drop and challenge for Promotion.

Entrance is £10 for adults and £5 for concessions, with a great printed programme at just  £2.
