Cray Wanderers v Billericay Town preview

Cray Wanderers return to Isthmian League Premier Division action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Billericay Town at Hayes Lane.

The Wands go into the game having beaten Haringey Borough 5-1 at home last Sunday with goals from Danny Bassett Jalen Jones, Omari Hibbert and two from Anthony Cook.

Follwoing the midweek fixtures Cray are now sitting in seventh place with 33 points from 21 matches, unbeaten in five league games.

Billericay travel down from Essex sitting in eleventh with 27 points from 19 league games. Last Saturday Town lost 2-1 at home to Corinthian Casuals, Bradley Stevenson scoring a penalty just before half time for Dan Brown’s side.

Cray Wands manager Neil Smith has said he is looking to add some new faces to his squad this week, with Ben Krauhaus and Kellen Fisher having returned to Bromley after impressive loan spells and a number of players struggling with injury and illness.

When the teams met at the New Lodge in August, Billericay won 2-1 with former Wanderer Chris Dickson and Alfie Cerulli scoring late on after Dan Bassett had put Cray in front in the first half.

This game looks set to be equally as close with both sides having been in good form going into the winter months.

This is The Wands’ last home game of 2022 and they will be keen to end the year on a high as they look to keep in touch with the play off spots.

Entrance to the game is £12 for adults and £6 for concessions with Bromley season ticket holders able to see the match for £6. There is also an excellent printed programme for £2. Kick off is at 3pm.
