Cray Wanderers 1-1 Ramsgate

Cray Wanderers and Ramsgate battled out an entertaining draw in the Isthmian League Premier Division at a very wet Flamingo Park on Saturday afternoon.

Both goals came from well taken free kicks, with ten man Rams equalising in the fifth minute of injury time, but they were only still in the game thanks to the incredible performance of goalkeeper Dillon Addai.

The game got off to an open start with Ramsgate having two early chances when Benedict Biolleti had an effort saved by Harry Seaden and Greg Cundle put another chance just wide.

Cray then had a good spell of pressure with Lateed Adaja having a shot saved by Bromley loanee keeper Addai.

Adaja had two more efforts well saved by Addai, who was in inspired form and Max Fiddes then shot just wide. Frankie Raymond saw a superb strike from 30 yards come back off the underside of the bar after great work from Alex Hernandez and Fiddes down the left.

The Rams had one chance when Liam Nash shot over from range, but The Wands continued to press. Remi Sutton was also denied by Addai who made a superb save low down to his left late on after the centre back had surged forward with the ball from deep.

The second half saw Ramsgate go close when Tom Clifford hit the foot of the post from distance, but The Wands responded when Jodi Mongoy saw his well struck drive tipped over by Addai.

Frankie Morgan was next to see a shot saved by Addai, when he hit a volley from just outside the area. When Hernandez did head home from the resulting corner, his goal was ruled out for offside.

Ramsgate had a good spell of pressure just after the hour mark with a series of corners, but Cray looked dangerous on the break, Adaja having a shot deflected wide.

Fiddes had another effort saved by Addai, before The Wands finally got their breakthrough on 77 minutes. Mongoy was brought down just outside the box by Donvieve Jones as The Wands winger broke free and The Rams substitute right back was red carded.

From the resulting free kick, Hernandez hit an unstoppable dead ball high into the right hand corner of the net to make it 1-0.

Cray should have made it two soon after when Raymond played in Mongoy on the left, but he put his chance just wide of the far post as he cut into the area.

As the game ticked towards ninety minutes, Cray started to run the ball into the corner and look to try and run the clock down, but it backfired on them in the final minutes of the five added on, as Ramsgate broke up field and Tom Bonner brought down Eze Ebuzoeme 25 yards from goal.

From the free kick, Paxman curled in a sublime effort, giving Seadon no chance and earning the visitors a point right at the death.
