The half time introduction of former Valley man Sam Halser turned this entertaining tussle on it’s head as Hastings march on towards promotion.

Cem Tumkaya headed Valley into a 31^st minute lead as he rose at the far post to head Connor Dymond’s cross beyond Louis Rogers.

Ben Pope dispossessed Valley keeper Chris Lewington before setting up Danny Parish whose effort was cleared off the line in the 60^th minute, before Hasler’s free kick from the right moments later was headed past Lewington by Tumkya.

Marcel Barrington went close to restoring Valley’s lead after an excellent run by Hassan Ibrahiym, before Lewington did well to deny Pope’s effort following a corner from Hasler.

The points were secured by Hastings 14 minutes from time when Hasler’s corner was headed home by skipper Jack Dixon at the far post.
