The Addicks completed their third capture of the summer when they completed the signing of Algerian midfielder, Salim Kerkar, on a one year deal.

The younger brother of former Manchester City player, Kerim Kerkar, Salim will celebrate his 25th birthday on Saturday.

Pacy and left-footed, Kerkar is probably seen as an impact sub and a player who can provide cover for Johnnie Jackson.

Charlton maintained their 100% pre-season record with a solitary goal win on a wet night in Sussex on Wednesday.

The experienced Claude Davis fouled Michael Smith on the edge of the box to give Danny Green the opportunity to bend a free-kick round the wall after 22 minutes.
