Crawley ruled out of Two tests

Kent batsman Zak Crawley has been ruled out of England’s opening two Test matches of the series in India.

A statement released by England Cricket reveals the reason behind Crawley’s absence:

“Following the results of last night’s scan, England top-order batsman Zak Crawley has been ruled out of the first two Tests of the India versus England series.”

“Scan results have confirmed that Crawley has jarred his right wrist, which has sprained the joint and led to local inflammation.”

“The Kent player sustained the injury during England’s practice in Chennai on Tuesday when he slipped on the marble floor leaving the dressing rooms onto the field of play.”

“The England medical team will continue to assess his progress over the next few weeks.”

Crawley had been set to bat at number three for England having opened the batting in the 2-0 Test series win against Sri Lanka in January.

A reshuffle of the batting order will likely now see Joe Root move up one spot to three and Crawley will work hard to be back fit for the last two Tests of the series.
