Gillingham have made the appointment of Steven Craig as their Assistant Manager ahead of the new League Two season.

Steven, 45, arrives from Gala Fairydean Rovers in Scotland following a four-and-a-half year spell and starts his new role at MEMS Priestfield Stadium with immediate effect.
Craig was a professional in Scotland and played for Falkirk, Motherwell, Aberdeen, Livingston, Dundee, Ross County and Partick Thistle. He operated as a striker and is the son of Joe Craig, a former Scottish international forward who played for Celtic.
Steven also played under Gareth Ainsworth during a playing spell at Wycombe Wanderers between 2013 and 2015, scoring eight times in 70 appearances.
Speaking to the club’s media team he said: “I am delighted to get it done. It came out of the blue. I got the call two or three weeks ago asking if I would be interested and it sort of snowballed from there.”
“I can’t wait to get started. The chance to go back full-time with the Gaffer, Dobbo and Watesy was too good to turn down.”
