Arsenal agreed to extend Francis Coquelin’s loan until 31 December on Friday.

Coquelin made his first two appearances from the bench for the Addicks against Leeds and Reading, before making his first start for the club against Millwall last Saturday.

The Frenchman will now be available for the matches against Nottingham Forest, Blackpool, Blackburn, Cardiff and the return match with Ipswich at Portman Road.

If Arsenal and Charlton agree, Coquelin could then be signed on a standard loan until the end of the season.

Coquelin was magnificent against Millwall and Bob Peeters will be delighted to have a player of his class available for the busy Christmas schedule.
