Conway back in the states for Petit Le Mans
Kent’s Mike Conway will make his second appearance in the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship this weekend as he reunites with Mustang Sampling Racing for Saturday’s Motul Petit Le Mans.
Fresh off the back of his second place finish at the 6 Hours of Fuji, Mike Conway heads to Road Atlanta for the final race of the season in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Conway made his first appearance of 2019 in the #5 Mustang Sampling Cadillac DPi-V.R when he and teammates Filipe Albuquerque and João Barbosa finished in 6th place at Watkins Glen.

Mike Conway has fond memories of the 2.54-mile circuit, having finished second there in 2017 on his debut at the circuit. In contrast, his #5 stablemates have unfinished business at the circuit after coming within one turn of winning the race last year, before they ran out of fuel virtually in sight of the checkered flag.

Regarded as one of the world’s best road courses, Road Atlanta is nestled within the natural terrain and rolling hills of Georgia and will play host to this weekend’s 10-hour endurance race

Mike will be looking to assist the team as they aim to end the year strongly and build on their two podium finishes from this season, victory on the streets of Long Beach and a third place finish in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, which has guided them to 7th in the Championship.
“It’s great to be back with Action Express, Cadillac and the Mustang Sampling Racing team this weekend at Road Atlanta. Road Atlanta is a great circuit to drive and I managed to finish P2 here in 2017. All the team are really motivated to finish the season on a high so I’ll be giving my all to help them achieve that!”

Action gets underway tomorrow with the first practice session at 15:50 (BST). Qualifying for the prototypes takes place on Friday at 21:45, with Saturday’s race getting started at 17:05.
