Colchester United v Bromley preview

Following on from last week’s disappointment in the FA Cup Bromley look to get back to winning ways as they travel up to Colchester United for a lunchtime League Two fixture on Saturday.

The Ravens lost their FA Cup First Round tie 2-1 at home to Bristol Rovers last Saturday, Jemiah Olumo with his first goal for the club as they trailed 2-0 and they had an injury time goal ruled out for offside to compound the frustration of the home fans.

Andy Woodman’s men are still well placed in League Two sitting in eleventh with 21 points from 14 games, two points off the play off places and won their last league game 2-1 over MK Dons.

Nicke Kabamba should be back in contention for Bromley after a concussion lay off, but Ben Thompson will be a doubt having picked an injury against Bristol Rovers, Andy Woodman continues to serve his touchline ban.

Colchester go into the game three places and three points behind Bromley, last weekend Danny Cowley’s team lost 3-2 at home to MK Dons in the FA Cup, having lead twice through Micah Mbick and Harry Anderson before conceding twice more.

Last time out in the league The Us drew 0-0 with Swindon Town ending October unbeaten with four wins and a draw.

When the teams met at The Jobserve Community Stadium in September last season the game ended 1-1, Owura Edwards equalising for Colchester after Michael Cheek had put Bromley in front. In the reverse fixture at Hayes Lane in January, Edwards was on target again for United as they won 1-0.

This game looks set to be equally as close between two teams who are still well placed to make a challenge for the top seven going into the winter months.

The match kicks off at 12;30pm and will be live on Sky Sports Plus.
