Clarke becomes Gills latest signing

Gillingham manager Neil Harris has made another addition to his squad with the capture of forward Jayden Clarke from Dulwich Hamlet.

The 21-year-old, who spent time with Tottenham Hotspur’s academy during his youth days, has played 26 times for Dulwich this season, scoring six goals and assisting six others. He recently netted a brace in a 2-1 win over Chelmsford.

He has previously represented Bedfont Sports and Hendon, reaching the London Senior Cup Final with the latter last season.

Clarke can operate in an attacking midfield position but also up front. He has signed in time to be eligible for selection ahead of Saturday’s game at Colchester United.

Having signed the talented 21 year old, Gills manager Neil Harris has spoken of his delight at bringing in the former Dulwich Hamlet man:

“Jayden is a different project for us. His receiving skills are excellent, he has end product.”

“He has real drive and energy. I am really looking forward to working with him.”

Highly rated and with lots of promise, Clarke has been brought in to add more strength and depth to a Gillingham squad that still sits on the bottom of League Two.

However, the addition of six players now during the transfer window should see The Gills climb the league and get themselves clear of the relegation zone.
