Friday night football takes place at Foxbury in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division when Chislehurst Glebe host Phoenix Sports.

It will be a huge evening for Chislehurst Glebe chairman Rocky MacMillan and wife Grace as the re-named and re-badged club (formerly Glebe FC) play their first competitive match on their newly laid 3G pitch, thirty years after the club was formed.
Their two matches since the start of the season have been away from home, a league match at Kennington which they lost two-one, and a four-nil win in their FA Cup Extra-Preliminary round tie at Faversham Strike Force. Whilst lots of things are evolving for the Foxes, one thing remains stable. Captain Jamie Philpot already has three goals in the bank to extend his record as their all time leading goal-scorer.
Meanwhile, visitors Phoenix Sports will not be going along to make up the numbers. They will be looking to be party poopers as they aim for a quick return the Isthmian League South East Division following their relegation.
They were given early notice of the challenge ahead when losing one-nil at Hollands & Blair on the opening day of the season. They then drew two apiece at step four Leatherhead in the FA Cup before losing three-nil in the replay on Monday night.
When Phoenix last crossed the A2 and A20 to get to Foxbury, back in February 2023, the match ended in stalemate, with neither side able to break down the other’s defence. With a bumper crowd anticipated for the local derby, another tight game could be on the cards.
