Taking a break from Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division action, Chislehurst Glebe host Queen’s Park Rangers Under 21s in the London Senior Cup third round on Tuesday evening.

Although Frankie Sawyer, the manager of the Foxes, is prioritising moving his team up the league, there is no doubt that his players will relish the challenge of competing against a young full time side.
They will come into the tie having had no game for ten days since defeating Corinthian two-one at home in front of a crowd of over two hundred. Their opening goal looked slightly fortuitous when Jeferson Bento slung over a high cross that the goalkeeper was unable to hold, and it went in off the far post.
Then, in the second half, Khavarn Williams eased in from the left wing and his shot took a deflection to divert it inside the near post. Although Jamie Billings headed one back deep into stoppage time, it was too little too late and the win moved the Foxes five points clear of the relegation zone.
Both Chislehurst Glebe and the young Rs were given a bye in the first round, then in round two, the Foxes were due to host Hayes and Yeading United but were handed a walk-over.
However, QPR were in action and visited Cray Valley PM in what became a goal-fest. Alex Aoraha gave the away team a sixth minute lead, but after a further six minutes Ibby Akanbi equalised. Philip Sanyaolu put the Rs back ahead in the fifteenth minute and added another four minutes later.
Daniel Bennie’s penalty, eleven minutes after the restart, made it four-one before Akanbi pulled one back. Bennie scored his second then Sanyaolu completed his hat-trick. Not to be outdone, Akanbi also put in a claim for a match ball when notching his third, however, the South West London side had the final word when Tylow Smith made it seven-three with a minute remaining.
Anyone wishing to attend the third round match at Foxbury should note the earlier than normal kick-off time of 19:30.
