Chesterfield v Bromley preview

Table topping Bromley look to extend their winning run in League Two to eight games as they travel up to Chesterfield for a lunchtime kick off on Saturday.

The Ravens go into the game having beaten Tranmere Rovers 2-0 at Prenton Park last weekend with Michael Cheek scoring two more goals, taking his tally to 14 for the campaign and making it twelve wins in thirteen matches for Andy Woodman’s team.

Bromley are top of the table with 51 points from 25 league games, five clear of Swindon Town in second and eleven of their opponents this weekend in seventh.

Chesterfield sit in the final play off spot with 40 points from 25 league matches, The Spireites haven’t played since New Year’s Day when they drew 1-1 away at Oldham Athletic, having had two games postponed since.

Adam Lewis put Paul Cook’s side in front at Oldham, before they conceded an equaliser in the second half and had Kyle McFadzean sent off late on.

The Two sides have been familiar foes over the last few seasons, gaining promotion together from the National League in May 2024 and games between them have produced some fantastic entertaining encounters.

Last season Chesterfield won their home game 3-0 in January, while the match at Hayes Lane in October 2024 ended 2-2.

Bromley haven’t always had the best of results at Chesterfield and this game looks set to be another tough fought close encounter between two strong sides.

The game is being shown live on Sky Plus, kick off is at 12:30pm.
