Six hitting AFC Greenwich Borough crushed Chessington & Hook United to go to the top of the Southern Counties East Football League Division One with one game remaining.

Abel Vendrells-Parcerisa scored a hat-trick as the visitors created chance after chance in their own world of adventures.
Oghosa Williams was denied early on by a good reaction save by Frankie Behan, Arthur Penney shot just wide, and Williams curled an effort beyond the far post before the hosts gave Greenwich a warning when Tobe Uzor played Kai Neil-Gray in. His shot lacked power and Javarn Pitterson saved easily.
After Vendrells-Parcerisa blasted a free kick well over, Greenwich went ahead. Joe Taylor appeared to be clipped in the head unintentionally by Uzor, and a penalty was awarded. Although Behan guessed correctly and beat out Williams’ spot kick, Vendrells-Parcerisa was first to the rebound and he bundled it home.

Taylor fired well off target before he created Borough’s second. He got to the bye-line, pulled it back and Elliott Carey arrived late to tuck it home from inside the six yard box.
Just after the half hour mark, the visitors added a third when Vendrells-Parcerisa twisted and turned before firing into the roof of the net from a tight angle.
Looking for his hat-trick, Vendrells-Parcerisa exchanged passes with Penney but failed to garner sufficient power to bother Behan before Chessington became the first team to breach the Greenwich defence in six games. Uzor’s clever turn created enough space for him to fire low past Pitterson and into the bottom corner.

Bailey Neal-Gray made a brilliant last ditch clearance to deny Williams before Kai Neil-Gray tried an audacious effort from just inside the Greenwich half but fired well off target.
Early in the second period Vendrells-Parcerisa had another attempt when cutting in from the left and curling it just round the far post, however, he didn’t have to wait much longer before earning the match ball. He burst down the right hand side and fired low inside the far post.
Ten minutes of the second half had passed when the visitors scored their fifth. Williams’ shot was saved well by Behan, and he then got up quickly to make a stunning stop from Mathias Bakare. The goalkeeper was not rewarded, though, as Taylor followed up to squeeze it in despite a desperate attempt by George Martin to clear it off the line.

Williams shot wide after being set up by Taylor, Oluwatomisin Obilana fired over after Behan saved from Bakare, and the midfielder shot straight at the Chessington goalkeeper as the visitors continued to press. Substitute Fraser Page then set up Williams but he shot over from close range, Taylor intercepted a back pass and Behan saved his flick, and Williams had another chance saved after Taylor and Bakare had combined well.
In time added on, Obilana hit a free kick that crashed back out off the bar before Williams finally got his name on the score-sheet. Page burst down the right and crossed to the Greenwich leading scorer. He controlled it before finishing well.
Although it’s the first time that Greenwich have been top all season, they go into their final match of the season knowing that a point at Staplehurst Monarchs would be enough to win the title. Meanwhile, Chessington have to equal or better whatever Welling Town do to avoid finishing bottom of the table.
