Chesham came from behind to build on their good form in 2026 to take the points with a second-half performance down the slope that the Fleet were unable to match. There were three changes from the visit to Bath with Ryan Sandford making his debut in goal, while Josh Passley and Lennon Peake were also in the starting lineup.

And the Fleet made a lively start on a boggy pitch, shooting down the slope in the first-half. Peake, who got away down the left on several occasions early on, dispatched a shot from distance which was off target while Dominic Samuel couldn’t keep his close-range effort low enough to trouble Ben Goode in goal.
The Fleet grabbed the early advantage on 12 minutes when a stunning strike from 25 yards off Charlie Seaman’s boot found the top left corner to set the Fleet on their way.
The hosts began to find their feet when Mitchell Weiss beat Sandford to a loose ball and Josh Addae attempted to lob it over the line but Mustapha Olagunju tracked back to clear the effort from under his bar.
Chesham began to enjoy a little more possession with Calum Adebiyi proving difficult to shift although there was another chance for the visitors minutes before the break when Ben Chapman laid a tidy ball into Finlay Barnes. He arrived inside the box but couldn’t keep his effort the right side of the near post.

The Fleet’s first few minutes of the second-half were promising, with Chesham forced to defend and Adebiyi blocked Samuel’s dangerous effort as the blue shirts threatened a second. Instead, Chesham found themselves back in it on 48 minutes when a back pass was capitalised on by Weiss who took the ball wide of Sandford and slotted it home for the equaliser.
And with 55 minutes on the clock, Chesham were in the lead. Alex Lafleur made space down the left wing and his ball into the area was diverted across goal by Olagunju, allowing Kai Yearn to finish.
A couple of substitutions saw both newcomers try to bring the Fleet level as Aaron Cosgrave overran Chapman’s delivery and then Josh Coley’s headed effort bounced the other side of the far post.
The afternoon became more challenging as Chesham scored a third on 76 minutes, Jayden Bennetts’ shot going in off another unfortunate deflection.
The Fleet pushed into seven minutes of stoppage time to see if they could pull off a late comeback but the hosts were able to add another on the break when Karl Oliyide beat suspicions of offside to find himself one on one with Sandford and he finished past the Fleet keeper to ensure Chesham had the points.
