Chelmsford City v Bromley preview

Second placed Bromley travel to Melbourne Park to face Seventh placed Chelmsford City in the Conference South on Saturday looking to keep the pressure up on the league leaders Boreham Wood who have a tough home game against Havant & Waterlooville.

The Ravens make the trip up to Essex without captain Rob Swaine who is banned for the next three games following his failed appeal to over turn his red card against Hayes & Yeading and Pierre Joseph-Dubois still remains on the injury list, with Mark Goldberg’s side desperately missing his regular goals from midfield.

The Hayes Lane club’s manager will have to decide whether to move influential midfielder Danny Waldren into defence or give youngster Callum McNaughton the centre back assignment alongside Jack Holland at a ground which can have quite an intimidating atmosphere for visiting players.

The Clarets who are eleven points behind Bromley will still harbour hopes of making the play offs and have a good record against The Ravens who haven’t won there in over five years.

These games are rarely controversy free and always fiercely contested so it should be set up nicely for an entertaining game in front of a decent crowd.
