The road to Wembley is still on for Chatham Town as they beat Marlow with an impressive second half performance to secure their place in Monday’s draw.

They did make hard work of it as the first half was not very good for either side but the half time message from Kevin Hake must have hit a nerve as Chatham showed their class.
The first half saw both sides struggle to create any chances and in the forty-five minutes Chatham had two half chances while Marlow had none.
The first half chance came in the 11th minute when a short corner came to Harvey Walker and his curling shot from twenty yards went past the post, the second came ten minutes later when Kasim Aidoo on the left saw his cross into the six-yard area headed goal wards by Walker, but Ryan North saved it easily.
The half time whistle went and for both sides everyone was hoping for a better half.
In the 50th minute the ball arrived at Ben Allen’s feet and from eighteen yards his shot was easily saved by North, two minutes later Kian Garlinge saw his twenty-yard shot palmed away by North and cleared.

In the 54th minute Chatham took the lead when a short corner was crossed into the near post where it was flicked on for Tope Fadahunsi to head home from two yards, a minute later Walker in the area saw his shot saved by North’s legs.
In the 59th minute Chatham doubled their lead when Fadahunsi in the area combined with Walker who from ten yards slotted home. In the sixty second minute Marlow had their first shot when Luqman Kassim saw his twenty-yard effort go just past the post.
Four minutes later it could have been three when a ball into the area saw Fadahunsi’s shot saved by North only to come out to Allen and his curling shot came back off the post.
In the 80th minute Chatham did get their third when Dapo Olugbodi who had come on two minutes earlier won the ball off Ezekial Williams and went into the area and from an acute angle shot home.
In the fifth minute of added on time Chatham got their fourth when a ball crossed into the area saw Fadahunsi head in from two yards. The final whistle went seconds later, and Chatham are now into the draw for the Second Qualifying Round.
