It was a smash and grab raid for Chichester City as they came from behind two take all three points against Chatham Town, in a game that was delayed due to traffic problems.
The game started with Chatham starting the quicker and in the thirteenth minute Tope Fadahunsi passed out wide to Oliver Hobden (who had just arrived on loan from Charlton) and he cut inside and saw his twenty yard shot tipped over the bar by Kieran Magee which saw Magee suffer a dislocated finger which the physio put back, after five minutes the corner went to the back post where Reece Butler was and he controlled it and then shot but it went just wide. In the thirty second minute Chatham took a deserved lead their first goal in three and a bit games when Kian Moynes received the ball twenty yards from goal and his shot beat Magee.
Three minutes later it could have been two when a mis-directed back pass fell at the feet of Junior Dixon and from eight yards his shot was saved by Magee. Another glorious chance came in the fourth minute off added on time when a Sam Sene-Richardson free kick into the area found Alex Giles six yards out on his own but his header went wide when it seemed easier to score. The half time whistle came and Chatham would wonder if these misses would come back to bite them while Chichester would be happy at only being one down.
The second half started a bit scrappy as both teams gave the ball away but in the fifty eighth minute Chatham doubles their lead when Dixon on the left wing received the ball and ran at the defender before shooting into the net from ten yards. In the sixty eighth minute Kofi Anokye-Boadi on the right received the ball and his first time shot from twenty five yards was saved by Magee. In the seventy fourth minute the madness started as Chichester got a goal back when a corner given away needlessly by Giles was headed in at the near post by Ben Pashley, two minutes later they had equalised when a breakaway from a Chatham corner saw the ball end up at Miles Obodo’s feet and from fifteen yards he shot past Nathan Harvey.
Two minutes later they scored again this time straight from a corner from the right by Obodo. The remaining twelve minutes saw Chatham really have a go to get an equaliser but Chichester held out for the three points.
