Chatham Town 2-0 Faversham Town
Chatham Town 2-0 Faversham Town

Chatham Town got their first three points of the season and two goals to boot in a well earned victory over Kent rivals Faversham Town which leaves Faversham pointless.

The first half saw Chatham dominate possesion & for the first 39 minutes were the only team likely to score. In the 18th minute Chatham nearly took the lead when Prince Domafriyie received the ball & then flicked it on for Joshua Ogunseye in the area & his shot with the outside off the boot came back off the post.

Three minutes later another half chance came when a Jack Evans free kick to the back post was headed back by Reece Butler for Joe Taylor but he couldn’t keep his header down as it
went over the bar.

Another chance came in the 36th minute when Evans saw his 25 yard free kick go just past the post. Faversham suddenly woke up & had three good chances up to half time. In the 40th minute Bradley Schafer saw his 20 yard shot get deflected but Dan Ellis up to then had nothing to do saved it.

A minute later a cross into the area was chested down for Schafer but his shot went over the bar & then in the last minute of the half Connor Wilkins saw his snap shot go past the post.

The half time whistle went & probably Faversham were the most happy & they looked forward to the second with a bit of confidence whilst Chatham would need to up the tempo a bit.

The second half started like the first with Chatham on the front foot & in the 47th minute Domafriyie in the area saw his shot saved at the second attempt by Simon Overland.

In the 61st minute another half chance came when Dean Beckwith saw his volleyed shot go just past the post.

Five minutes later Evans saw his 20 yard shot spilled by Overland & scrambled away. Chatham finally got the goal they deserved when a cross into the area was chested down by Bradshaw & with plenty of space around him shot home from 10 yards.

Faversham looked a bit deflated & then in the 88th minute Chatham doubled their lead when a throw in down the line was flicked on by Emmanual Oloyede for Ogunseye for outmuscled the defender & ran into the area before shooting past Overland.
